From the Desk of Dr. Geoffrey Soloway
Founder of MindWell-U
MindWell-U has had a very exciting 2018! I wanted to extend a moment of thanks and gratitude to all of the organizations and individuals who have taken our training and supported our work over this past year. Part of the inner work at MindWell-U has been the clarification of our mission of helping to make mindfulness more relevant and accessible for all people, and the underlying belief that mindfulness is a core competency and a new literacy that helps individuals, teams and organizations transform for the betterment of society.
I am inspired on a regular basis by individuals who have benefitted from mindfulness in their own lives and then reached out to us in order to bring mindfulness to their workplace/organization. We now have over 30,000 people who have taken the Mindfulness Challenge and that is a result of people like you engaging in the training, inviting a buddy, and sharing it with those around you.
A few highlights in 2018:
Canadians across Newfoundland and Labrador can access the Mindfulness Challenge as part of e-mental health provincial initiative and Stepped-Care research project affiliated with Memorial University and the Mental Health Commission of Canada
MWU continues to provide training for all Health Care Practitioners across the Province of Saskatchewan
MWU presented at the Government of Canada Executive Leadership Symposium, and moving forward with a number of new training and research initiatives with various departments in the Canadian Government
MWU supported the University of Ottawa with a campus wide mindfulness initiative that continues to reach over 50,000 students, staff and faculty
Satisfaction in seeing organizations like WestJet and Enbridge continue to commit to the integration of mindfulness into their organizations and in the development of a more mindful work culture
I am also very thankful to all the people working internally at MindWell-U to help bring our services forward. Our team has continually gone above and beyond in helping to meet our goals. Looking forward to 2019, we are excited to step up our game in creating enhanced functionality on our site, engaging design updates, and provision of new training to help elevate the communities we are supporting.
